3.1.1. Total RPA and EOC risk
A total of 22 studies (11 case control studies and 11 cohort studies)
provided risk estimates based on a measure of ‘total’ RPA. Among the
findings reported in the 11 case control studies, all OR's were under
1.0., suggesting an inverse association between RPA and EOC risk.
However, only 5 studies yielded statistically significant inverse associa-
tions between measures of total RPA and EOC risk, demonstrating a
decreased risk of EOC between 10 and 51% among those woman
engaging in the highest number of hours of RPA per week with one additional study yielding borderline significance (OR = 0.69;
95% CI: 0.47–1.01)
