The Promoting the Emergence of Advanced Knowledge (PEAK) Relational Training System is an assessment and While the aforementioned study does well to demonstrate a relationship between an assessment tool and previously
standardized measures of academic achievement, the psychometric analysis of the PEAK curriculum and assessment
remains incomplete. With the vast use of IQ for outcome prediction, comparison of individuals’ functioning, and
validation of assessments, an evaluation of the extent to which a curriculum and assessment relates to these measures
is required to ensure that the package targets established cognitive constructs implicated in greater academic
achievement and success. No study to date has investigated such a link between IQ and any ABA curricula
or assessment. Thus, the current study sought to extend the previous research by investigating the relationship
between scores on the PEAK Direct Training assessment and IQ scores to establish the convergent validity of this
protocol.
