The two Lb. delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus strains studied by Petry et al. (2000) did not show the same behaviour with
two different carbohydrate sources; for Lb. delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus CNRZ 416, the proportion of the monosaccharide constituents varies as a function of the carbohydrate source, while for Lb. delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus CNRZ 1187, it does not.
