One of the biggest events to commemorate Ok Phansa Day (the end of Buddhist Lent), the Sakhon Nakhon Wax Palace festival is one of Thailand’s many inspirational Buddhist holidays.
Using beeswax, the local people create molded Buddhist temples, shrines, and other wonderful wax castles. The most artistic talents from around the province bring their wax castles to be shown off in a procession for all to see.
In addition to the procession, there are boat races and other cultural performances that showcase rural cultural and the spirit of the local inhabitants. Experience the magnificent Wax Castle Procession and feast your eyes on the wonderful tradition of the people of Sakon Nakhon.
