8. Projects: All OMEE contracts have inclusions for work that exceeds certain thresholds or exists outside the regular scope of work. For the sake of simplicity, we call all such work "Projects". These are extra money and FMAS (through us) is likely to be the only company qualified for many of them. In time, they will 'corner the market' so to speak. If they prove trustworthy, loyal, and reliable, we will always go to FMAS first, even if it is just to broker services from other Thai companies. This allows them other income and is actually easier for J&J and the government than feeding several different companies and escorting them in. (Loyalty here is key).
9. Existing Out-of-scope Work: It occurs to me that there may be some services from the old contract the FMAS is doing that are unnecessary or outside what J&J would require IAW our own contract. These are ways for FMAS to help J&J ask the government if they want to add these services to the J&J contract and are ways for FMAS to obtain additional revenue without renegotiating the scope of work on the current LOA. Is there any jobs we do now that are out of scope, please list these and Charles' will go back to AFRIMS and request more money to continue these services.
10. Insurance cost: the disparity between the cost in the LOA versus what FMAS was doing before is of lesser relevance to us than assuring that FMAS is covered and is meeting Thai requirements. It comes to mind that Atalian might need a bit of 3rd-party research for this matter of insurance (and side items such as asbestos compensation, etc.), so I would like to put you in touch with Crown World Mobility representatives in Bangkok. I have not dealt with them just yet, but they seem to specialize in settling expat business in Thailand, to include legal consultation. They may be of help. I would try this POC and tell them that J&J WWS referred you: - Please explain why the existing insurance policy is enough to cover us under existing scope.

In all, the relationship is paramount. I want J&J to trust FMAS and I want FMAS to trust J&J. We are essentially back-to-back and surrounded on all sides by other organizations who want this work and this money. If we work together and keep a stiff upper lip through this startup period, we are likely to come out way ahead of any that came before us. This contract is unprecedented in Thailand, so our performance and teamwork on the project should be equally unprecedented. This 5-year contract can easily become 10 years if we keep competition out of our territory. We have followed this teaming strategy with great success in Korea for the past 15 years. The program will only grow from here if we impress DC back in the US.
I am hopeful that all of this will provide some useful talking points between Atalian and FMAS and I look forward to our next discussion.
