Normal/Slow
As with the whole/part idea, sometimes the children need to see the skill at normal speed ; other times it helps to slow it down, often when the cue is demonstrated. It the demonstration isn’t slowed down, many children will be unable to actually see the movement that is demonstrated. It will simply be a blur. This is especially true for the higher skilled children when a teacher is attempting to refine a complex sports skill(e.g., a certain sequencing of movements of body parts, as in swinging a golf club or racket or throwing). The focus may be on how the hips, arms, and shoulders move in relation to one another.
