Three groups were used in the analysis: no selfreported diabetes and no self-reported high blood pressure
(n5,024), self-reported diabetes without self-reported high blood pressure (n338), and self-reported diabetes with selfreported high blood pressure (n505). Having diagnosed diabetes was based on being told by a doctor or other health professional that one has diabetes. Diagnosed high blood pressure was based on being told two or more times by a
doctor or other health professional that one has high blood pressure.
