Mr. McDaniel comes into the room and takes a quilted pillow from Shawn's oversized crib. Mr. McDaniel begins to make a speech he has clearly practiced, telling Shawn how much he loves him, as Shawn remembers the description of how Mr. Detraux killed Colin with a pillow. Mr. McDaniel cries as he tells Shawn how he thinks about him all the time and how he wishes there was a way of knowing if Shawn is aware, if he can think and feel.
