This study has many implications for school health nurses and other healthcare professionals who provide
care for children in schools and primary care settings. Breakfast, mother's education and household income,
were found to have an association with academic achievement among primary school children in northern
Jordan. Mother's education, family income and breakfast were protective factors for malnutrition. These
findings entail the stakeholders and healthcare providers in schools and primary health care settings to enhance
healthy nutritional habits by encouraging having breakfast through mass media and through conference and
lectures.
