Learning to build primarily with studless pieces allows
you to build stronger, sturdier, and more compact structures;
hence, studless MOCs are usually more functional, smaller,
and lighter than studfull ones. They can give your model a
fairly skeletal or “hollow” appearance, though. To avoid this
and to create a good-looking studless model (like the Ford
GT40 in Figure 3-16), you can add panels and flexible axles,
or you can combine a studless interior structure with a studfull body, an idea fully explored later in this chapter.
