6.1 Obtaining Accurate Results (cont.)
• To generate confidence intervals for the key output
(average waiting time), multiple replications are used
to assure independence in the samples.
• The next table shows the results from 20
replications, each with a run-length of 15,000
customer arrivals.
• A significance level of 5% is used to construct 95%
confidence intervals.
• From 20 replications the deviation of the intervals is
below 5%. This is considered sufficient precision.
