2.9.0 VERIFICATION OF TRANSMITTER LOOP
2.9.0.1 Objective
Instrument Calibration must be carried out to maintain and verify instrument accuracy. Test instruments are available that cover all different instruments which measure typically Humidity, Pressure, Temperature etc. They are also used for setting up final elements. Test instruments are available in portable versions for site bench versions for the workshop. The process of configuring an instrument to provide a result for a sample within an acceptable range. Eliminating or minimising factors that cause inaccurate measurements is a fundamental aspect of instrumentation design.
2.9.0.2 Procedure
- The DC current or DC voltage from its appropriate output terminal set by the user or simulating a transmitter.
- Defined as “a test during which known values of measurement are applied to the transducer and corresponding output readings are recorded under specified conditions.”
- The definition includes the capability to adjust the instrument to zero and to set the desired span.
2.9.0.3 Acceptance criteria
Recorded measurements for signal shall be within the specified range
