Visaka Bucha Day is the Buddhist commemoration of the Lord Buddha's birth, enlightenment, and death. It is on the full moon day of the sixth lunar month or May. People,Buddhists and non-Buddhists,make merit by offering alms to the monks in the morning, listening to sermons at the temple and joining a solemn candle-lit procession around the main chapels in the evening. Some Buddhists stay overnight at a temple, wearing white clothes, meditating, and praying to purify their minds.
