A total of 145 nursing students completed the preassessment
and postassessment. There were no significant
differences between treatment and control groups on any
demographic variables (see Table). Approximately 80% of
the total group was female, and the majority of students
were between 20 and 29 years of age. The sample was
91% Caucasian, and 52% did not have a religious affiliation.
At baseline, participants had moderate LOFs
(mean, 8.20; standard deviation, 2.35). There does not
appear to be substantial variance among the campuses at
premeasurement and postmeasurement time points for
LOF
