Though machining modules consume more power during faster
processes, however in this instance, the energy consumption
decreased at higher process speeds, because of the decreased
process time. The tool wear increases during machining, and the
effect of the tool wear is reflected in the energy consumed by
material removal. Fig. 6(b) shows the calculated numerical values,
which were somewhat higher than the measured values, even
though the present energy model did not include the energy term
associated with material removal. Nevertheless, the values obtained
from the numerical model were similar to the measured
values, average error between nine measured points and the
developed model is about 8%.
