II. IMPLEMETED SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE
Our proposed architecture has two parts,
i. Hardware Component
ii. Android Application
Hardware component consists of smart meters, relays,
phase shifters, a micro controller to monitor and control and
a server to log all the usage information in the cloud.
Power supply to each house is connected through smart
energy meters which supports RS485 connectivity. Mbed
LPC1768 board having cortex M3 processor on it is
responsible for communication with the smart meters with
RS485 and store the usage parameters like voltage, current,
power usage etc. into the cloud server.
On the source side one can select power source from
multiple available power sources like solar, wind, hydro or
grid supply. This is done through source selector hardware
module which is shown in the Fig 1.
