learning barrier
The framework as shown in figure 5 describe on the existence of intrinsic and extrinsic barriers to e-learning and the interrelationships with the control mechanisms.
Packham et.al (2004) stated that if the control mechanisms of an e-learning programme are efficient and
effective then they will act as enabling mechanisms that enhance the learning experience and hence, improve retention.
He also suggested that the strategies that can therefore be implemented by educational institutions to overcome these intrinsic and extrinsic factors should include
recruitment policies on e-learning courses that ensure suitability,
competence and commitment
