If may be important to have a job but does work make people happy? In many studies during the last two decades workers have been asked whether they would continue to work if they inherited enough money to live comfortably without working. More than 70 percent replied that they would. Asked how satisfied they were with their jobs, even more-from 80 to 90 percent - replied that they were very or moderately satisfied. But asked whether they would choose the same line of work if they could begin all over again, most said no. Only 43 percent of white-collar and 24 percent of blue-collar workers said yes. And when asked, " do you enjoy work so much that you have a hard time putting it aside?"only 34 percent of men and 32 percent of women answered positively.
