Table 2 presents the effect of PHB and CNF contents on the notched Izod impact strength of the PLA composites. Impact
strength of pure PLA was 19.7 J/m, and adding PHB and 10 wt.% CNF to the PLA did not significantly contribute to the impact strength of the composites. However, the 2.5 wt.% CNF with the PHB carrier system composite achieved the highest impact strength (23.9 J/M) with a 21% and 14% increase compared to neat PLA and PLA + PHB composites, respectively. The CNF is believed to have acted as a nucleating agent and increased crystallinity, resulting in a reduction in PHB spherulite size and a finer dispersion of the PHB phase in the PLA matrix
