The Grain Corn Case was unlikely to achieve the lofty heights of media play given to the softwood lumber dispute (for further details please see "Observations on Canada-US Trade Relations in 2005"). However, the case has provided strategic grist for the litigation mill that often overlooked litigation tools are available to US manufacturers, their exporters and counsel which, in the appropriate case, may be of use to reduce significantly the costs otherwise incurred when anti-dumping and countervailing duties are levied on imports of US-sourced products
