Sustainability Yield Index of Treatments
Using the prediction error (PE) based on regression models of yield through crop season
rainfall, sustainability yield index (SYI) values of all the nutrient-management treatments
2
were determined. The data pertaining to prediction error,R values of the regression mod-
els and SYI, have been presented in Tables 2 to 4. From the viewpoint of SYI values,
T6 was superior for rice with maximum SYI of 47.7%; T9 was superior for pigeon pea
with maximum SYI of 24.2%;and T6 was superior for REY with maximumSYI of59.7%.
The nutrient-management treatments T3 and T5 were the second best for rice with SYIs of
46.8%, whereas T6 and T7 were the second best for pigeon pea with SYIs of 22.2%, and
T3 was superior for REY with SYI of 54.9% under moist subhumid Alfisols. These find-
ings conform with those earlier reported by Maruthi Sankar et al. (2011) for finger millet
and Sharma et al. (2009) for sorghum and green gram, who reported that integrated use of
inorganic and organic sources of nutrients proved superior inmaintaining greater SYI.
