Groups may also be a viable option for relatives of the jobless (Bauman, 2009). Often family members of the unemployed do not realize or understand the dynamics surrounding the loss or search for employment. They may feel isolated and embarrassed as well. Groups that specialize in working with this population go a long way in alleviating intrapersonal and interpersonal stress and conflict in regard to career searches and employment dynamics. Reflection when have you or someone you know been unemployed? What were the thoughts and feeling that went with the condition? How do you think a group could have helped?
