To examine the applicability of the method for determination of
the selected VOCs in an actual aqueous sample, a Calan damwater
sample was collected from the agriculture area, Malayer County,
Iran, and subsequently analyzed by the developed method.
Relative recovery, as a criterion for the extent of matrix effect,
was evaluated by analyzing the spiked water samples collected
from the Calan dam and Tehran drinking system at 100 ng L1. The
GC–MS chromatogram obtained after headspace SPME of a Calan
dam sample at the concentration of 100 ng L1 is shown in Fig. 7. As
Table 2 shows the recovery values varied from 96% to 103%. The
analytical performance characteristics of the current method are
summarized in Table 3 and compared with some of the reported
GC–SPME methods in literature [35–40]. The current method using
NiO-PBT nanocomposite fiber coating reveals comparable LOD and
RSD% values along with other relevant analytical data (Table 3).
