Another potential Twitter effect could be the mainstream media’s sources scaling back their efforts to
break news on the service. First might not necessarily be best; instead of racing to break a story, more traditional
outlets could focus on being the first to post a thoughtful, detailed story that answers all of a potential
reader’s questions, rather than simply tweeting a variation of, “Event X occurred, details later.” The communication
industry is constantly changing and adaptation is key, but at some point enough will be enough.
