Whole Blood should be stored at 40C ±20C in plastic blood bags.
Whole blood collected in anticoagulant citrate-phosphate-dextrose
solution (CPD) should have an expiry date, not exceeding 21 days after
phlebotomy. Whole blood collected in anticoagulant citrate-phosphatedextrose
with adenine (CPDA-1) should have an expiry date not exceeding
35 days after phlebotomy.
Whole blood in heparin solution should have expiry period not exceeding
24 hours after collection
