Research indicates significant daily human consumption of soybean isoflavones can increase bone density, thereby lowering risk of osteoporosis; help to lower blood content of low-density lipoproteins; help to prevent prostate enlargement; and reduce the risk of certain types of cancer (e.g., breast cancer, colon cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, and uterine cancer). Isoflavones also exhibit antioxidant properties, when consumed.
