3.5. Effect of initial phosphate concentration and adsorbent dosage
The percent removal of phosphate at equilibrium increased from 99.4% to 99.6% as the concentration was increased from 50 to 200 mg PO43−/L. The CWE dosage was varied between 0.1 and 0.5 g/50 mL and equilibrated for 1 h. The phosphate removal efficiency of the CWE was varied approximately from 98.4% to 99.6% at adsorbent amount of 0.1 and 0.5 g/50 mL, respectively, for all the initial phosphate concentrations. The increase in adsorbent dosage increased the percent removal of phosphate due to adsorbent surface area increase in adsorbent dosage. The experimental data were shown in Fig. 6.
