HISTORY: headache. MRI OR THE BRAIN (wITHouT IV cONTRAST)
TECHNIQUE: MRI of the brain was performed utilizing a General Electric 1.5 Tesla MRI scanner. Multiplanar images were acquired utilizing the following sequence weightings without contrast: GRE, T1, T2, Dwi (with ADC maph, and FLAIR. No v contrast was utilized and there were no complications,
FINDINGS: The sulci and ventricles are unremarkable. There is no hydrocephalus.
Grey/white matter differentiation isnormal. There is couple small foci of T2/FLAIR hyperintensity in the posterior aspect of the bone there are most suggestive of chronic small vessel ischemic changes.
There is no restricted diffusion weighted imaging to suggest acute lnfarct.
There is a large sellar mass extending into the suprasellar space. This mass measures 1.9 x 2.1x2.2 cm. The mass has heterogeneous signal characteristic on T1-weighted sequence there are some foci of dropped signal. There may be some optic nerve/chiasm mass effect. There is no hydrocephalus.
There is mild paranasal sinus inflammatory signal. There is mild fluid signal in the right mastoid.
