Ordered logit models of the willingness to join these schemes, in different time
horizons, are then estimated. Respondents with income between 15K and 25K Euros are more
likely to join carsharing or bikesharing systems. Carsharing will mainly attract people that use
bus trolley or tram for their trips to work or school, while bikesharing will attract those who
go on foot. Furthermore, carsharing will be more popular among those that currently use taxi
for their trips to social activity. Age is also a significant determinant of joining bikesharing,
with respondents in the 26-35 years age group being more reluctant than younger ones.
Finally, the more environmentally conscious the respondent declares that he is, the more
possible it is that he will join one of the two schemes.
