InHarvest has contacted us this morning with quality concerns about the two loads of Organic LG Parboiled Brown rice that they recently received from Urmatt. Below is the information from InHarvest’s Quality Assurance Manager:
We are having some quality issues with the two loads of Organic Long Grain Parboiled Brown we recently received from Urmatt. Comparing to the approved pre-shipment (please see attached picture left side being the approved sample and right side is the received loads) as shown in the picture the quality is very different. Upon reviewing the SGS report the “Damaged kernels” is at 0.74% where the product spec is at 0.5% (their internal COA states 0.26%). We have also cooked an tasted the product and it presents a distinct sour/musty smell and taste where the pre-ship sample did not. We are in immediate need to use this rice, however, we are concerned about the quality. We have sent sample for micro testing to ensure the safety of the product.
InHarvest has asked if you would please “advise why there is a significant difference in quality from the approved pre-shipment sample to the actual load. Also, why the SGS COA is significantly different from their internal COA and also out of spec.” Your prompt reply is greatly appreciated.
