Degree of deacetylation (% DDA) is an important parameter
association with the physiochemical properties of chitosan.
The DDA value was determined using pH metric titration9,15.
In the present study, % DDA of chitosan prepared from Labeo
rohita fish scales was found to be 78.2. The degree of
deacetylation of typical commercial chitosan is usually ranged
between 66 and 95%19.
