Fresh garlic bulbs were obtained from a local supermarket and
stored in ambient conditions for no more than a week before
use. A total of 16 garlic bulbs were used throughout the trials.
The dimensions (length and widest dimension) and weight of
all the cloves used were measured before, and the weight and
water content (using an AMB 310 moisture balance, Adam
Equipment Co. Ltd, UK) measured after, use.
