Specificity is the ability to assess unequivocally the analyte in the presence of components which may be expected to be present. The absorbance of the blank, 1.0 and 5.0 μL L−1 of Benzene in Hexane prepared from the standard stock solution are measured in triplicate. Absorbance measurements are presented in Table 1. Increase in absorbance with increase in Benzene concentration shows the test method is specific.
