The purpose of this experiment was to study the effect of using vocabulary games
on the retention in learning vocabulary of Prathomsuksa five students.
The sample group was Prathomsuksa 5 students in the second semester of the 2003 academic
year at Assumption College Rayong. The experiment was carried out for a
six - week time frame; there were twenty – four class periods of fifty minutes each.
The instruments used in this study were 12 lesson plans, a learning achievement test and a
questionnaire about the students’ opinions on learning vocabulary games.The data were statistically
analysed by percentage, mean, standard deviation and t-test for Dependent Samples.
The findings revealed that :
1. The students’ retention in learning English vocabulary games were at high level.
2. The students of Prathomsuksa 5 were satisfied with the vocabulary activities.
