La Galigo Liveaboard is named in honour of the La Galigo transcripts, an epic myth composed by the proud, seafaring Bugis people of South Sulawesi. The La Galigo teachings detail the story of humanity’s origins and serves as a guide for living a balanced and peaceful life.
The 33 metre long stylish, two masted, ironwood and teak Phinisi sailing boat was built by traditional South Sulawesi craftsmen in Bira and was completed in 2012. La Galigo was specifically designed with liveaboard diving practicalities in mind, providing plenty of space for divers to store gear and find places to relax in-between dives. She comfortably caters for 14 divers in 4 Deluxe cabins, 2 Master Cabins and 1 ultra-luxurious Grand Suite.
La Galigo offers a range of itineraries cruising around the Indonesian archipelago on a year-round basis. Departures range from 5 – 12 nights covering Komodo, Raja Ampat, the Banda Sea and the Wakatobi archipelagos.
Custom itineraries may be requested by full boat charters.
