First inspections revealed the large extent of wrongdoings. We welcomed the commitment of the measures and mechanisms recently introduced. We consider the implementation of these commitments as very important to address the extent of forced labour and TIP associated to IUU fishing. However,we would in particular like to express our serious concern on the so far limited number of prosecutions relating to forced labour and TIP carried out and of the reluctance to apply the deterrent sanctions against perpetrators provided for in the Royal Ordinance on fisheries,as attested by the records of follow-up measures to inspection taken that were shared with us during the dialogue mission
