There has been an all-out effort to intensify the pace of industrialization even in developing countries, on the pattern of industrialised nations. Added to this is the serious problem of dwindling resources, specially of crude oil. In fact, the availability of resources, ever-increasing population, increasing environmental pollution due to rapid industrialization and total food requirement, are being given serious thought in the world. The figures given in this chapter project the position of these four important considerations over the next 30 years. These figures should serve as guidelines for those who are interested in an over view of the problem.
Economics activities such as food production, industrial production and energy generation and environment should be considered as two sides of the same coin. In fact due to their close interaction, it is essential to have an integrated approach to resource utilization, economic activities and environment. This fact has become more important lately. The interactions between resources, food per capita.
