Positives
The way Las Palmas have been playing, and given Zidane's need to make several changes, retaining a La Liga lead with a draw away from home wasn't a bad evening's work. Alvaro Morata, Asensio and Nacho all played well and Real incurred no fresh injury concerns ahead of a midweek Champions League meeting with Borussia Dortmund.
Negatives
It's not often that Real go ahead twice in a game and fail to pick up three points. Las Palmas' first goal was a peach and their second owed a great deal to luck of the bounce, but Zidane won't be happy with conceding so late on with a 2-1 lead. He will rue the number of clear-cut chances that went begging beforehand.
Manager rating out of 10
8 -- Zidane deserves credit for rolling the dice at 1-1 by bringing on Benzema and switching to a 4-2-4. The extra man in attack made the difference with Morata, who might have expected to make way, instrumental in giving Real the lead.
Player ratings (1-10; 10 = best. Players introduced after 70 minutes get no rating)
GK Kiko Casilla, 7 -- Made a few easy stops but had no chance with Tana's strike and was just plain unlucky for Araujo's equaliser.
DF Dani Carvajal, 8 -- Laid on a silver service for his forwards and was quick to react to Las Palmas' forays on his flank. An excellent attacking display from the right-back.
