1. Investigate all accidents and incidents to identify the cause and ensure that effective control measures are put in place to prevent a re-occurrence. Where applicable notify the enforcing authority of any notifiable incidents.
2. Develop, implement and maintain safety policy to ensure compliance with all statutory and company requirements.
3. Ensure all safety and fire protection systems are maintained fully operational to company and statutory requirements.
4. Keep abreast of technological and statutory developments within the safety and fire protection industry; provide advice to line management on compliance.
5. Participate in project teams and provide advice and resource on operational safety specifications and issues.
6. Facilitate initiatives to achieve best practice in safety systems leading to improved behavioural safety.
