Breakthrough Planning
The breakthrough is based upon an appraisal of the long-term objectives of the organisation in terms of realising an organisational vision.
Breakthroughs are large scale, fundamental quality improvements.
The breakthrough comprises of the following six stages:
Clarify a vision of where the organisation is going
Identify the goals necessary in order to progress towards this vision
Identify critical processes to deliver goods to customers beyond expectations
Select breakthrough items that will allow the organisation to reach the vision quickly
Communicate the vision and methods to all employees
Provide a structure for monitoring progress towards the vision
