The effects of housing systems on carcass characteristics
in pigs are summarized in Table 3. The carcass
weight and length for deep-litter system treatments
were both significantly (P < 0.05) greater than that
of concrete-floor system treatment, while there were
no significant (P < 0.05) differences between deeplitter
system treatments. Both housing systems had
no significant (P < 0.05) effect on other carcass
characteristics.
