The surface of the calcined samples at low heat flow rate of 5 °C/min (Fig. 3b1), retained its fibers morphology even after the
removal of polymer molecules. Compared to composite fibers (Fig. 3a4), the annealed ZnO nanofibers displayed rough surface (Fig. 3b1). When the heat flow rate was increased to 25 °C/min the fibers at few places degenerated into spherical particles as seen in Fig. 3b2.
