I am very sorry to inform everyone about this sad news…
When Thais say “Long live the King!” they really mean it…
The top Thai officials cheat you, folks… They do not want to tell you the awful truth…
However, they cannot hide the awful truth from you in the proper manner either.
His Majesty was an avid photographer, in case you didn’t know that. His Majesty always used the best and the most modern photo-cameras. He used either the latest Canon SLRs, or the latest Leikas.
Considering that His Majesty was a billionaire – one of the richest people on the Earth, the cost of the equipment was not a big deal for him. He could easily afford to buy the latest and the best.
When His Majesty grew older and weaker he obtained a smaller camera that was easier to carry than a typical mammoth DSLR, but even then His Majesty made sure to choose the best available. It was Canon G9 – the revolutionary “enthusiast-type” Canon’s compact with all professional features. It was just released in 2007.
Yes, the G9 was the best and the most advanced camera by the standards of 2007, but it is a total shit by today’s standards. Because since then the following models of the Canon’s “G” series, one better than the other, had appeared:
G10 – in 2008 (greatly improved manual controls);
G11 – in 2009 (+greatly improved low-light performance);
G12 – in 2010 (+articulated screen added among other fine improvements);
G1x – in 2012, from February (includes any and every improvement possible, plus largest sensor that is bigger and much better than in many actual “four thirds” DSLRs);
G15 – in 2012, August (a great improvement over G12).
Could you imagine that such an avid photographer as His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej would use the badly outdated Canon G9 in 2010? When even the G10 has been gone from the scene being replaced by the far more advanced G11? And could you imagine that His Majesty continued to shoot with G9 in April-May 2012? When the best ever Canon’s model – G1x – hit the market in March? You must be insane, folks, if you think so…
Ask any professional photographer, or at least staff in your local photo-camera store what is their opinion regarding such a possibility.
I hope you got the point…
Those morons who are responsible for the entire show just did not bother to buy a newer model of the Canon camera to make the setup look more believable...
2
However, it was not only their stupidity. They made even a more stupid mistake once – namely on 25 May 2011 when they allowed “His Majesty” to be photographed by every photographer not only with his badly outdated Canon G9, but also with two watches – both on right and left wrists… (look at the 25 May 2011 newspapers for confirmation).
Well… Someone might argue, of course. But it is useless to argue. The case is clear.
Do you think that His Majesty carries his “trade-mark” photo-camera only for “PR-photos” taken of him by others? While he does not care to take pictures of his own?
You are badly mistaken if you think so. In this case His Majesty would carry some dummy (empty inside and therefore light) DSLR. Perhaps, Canon 5D or something like this. In this case it would be much more impressive.
However, in 2007 His Majesty obviously switched from using huge DSLRs and “bridge superzooms” to the most advanced, yet miniature “enthusiast-type” - the Canon G9.
That means that His Majesty really liked the actual photography, and not just the public image “The King with his trademark photo-camera hanging from his neck”. Just look at the pictures from the 2012 edition of the Rao Rak Nai Luang 5 (where His Majesty is in his white uniform). Please, notice how many times His Majesty takes the actual photos with his ridiculously outdated Canon G9! Moreover, make sure to notice that on some of the magazine’s pages His Majesty appears not only to make photos, but even videos!
Do you know, by the way, that all modern cameras – even the smallest and the slimmest “point-and-shoots” of fancy colors made for girls – now feature so-called “HD” and the majority of them - even “Full HD” video modes?
And what do you think about the Canon G9? Do you know that it did not feature any HD video yet (not counting the ridiculous half-speed 15 fps mode)? And could you imagine now that His Majesty does not only takes photos with this type of ridiculous equipment, but he also makes videos with it???? In the year 2012????
It is absolutely impossible that in 2010, not to say in 2012 His Majesty would use the G9.
Do you understand this???? Do you know how much is the camera of Canon’s G-series? Check on the Internet. It is no more than 20.000 Thai Baht (600-650 USD). It is therefore affordable not only to the kings but just to almost everyone.
His Majesty would NOT use the G9 in 2010, not to mention in 2012. Do you realize it??? However, the morons from among his entourage would not use their brains to update His Majesty’s equipment. They would stupidly issue the badly outdated, though genuine G9 to a person appointed to play the role of the King… And they would issue to this person His Majesty’s genuine watches, in addition to the G9 camera, but sometimes forgetting to remove the person’s own watches from his other hand…
3
Oh, perhaps, you do not believe in using “doubles”. You think only “nutty” conspiracy theorists believe in such bullshit. Isn’t it?
Do not be so quick in this conclusion. Read an article on Stalin’s doubles that is included among the materials here. And do not forget that the Kingdom of Thailand is a country of over 65 million population. Thailand is big enough. And it is serious enough. Thailand is a SERIOUS country. Thailand is a region’s leader. Its Head of State is big enough. And his bodyguards are serious enough. And secret services of this 65-million country are powerful enough. Trust me. They are not as serious as Stalin’s secret services, of course, and not as serious as the secret services of North Korea, but they are serious enough. Do not even doubt. They love their King and they know how to protect their beloved King.
And what about all this stupidity with the G9 and with the two watches in the same time someone might ask?
Well… None of us is perfect, as you know. And the Thais who invented this game are not perfect either. Everyone does mistakes. At least from time to time. And these Thais do make mistakes as well.
Why did they cheat the Thai people with this show in the first place, you might ask? Couldn’t they honestly tell to the Thai people the sad truth? That His Majesty is no longer with them? Because as everyone else in This World, His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand was mortal?
No. They could not say this truth. To be more exact, “they could”, but they did not dare. The truth was simply too dangerous for the integrity of the Kingdom of Thailand and for the well-being of the Thai people. As I have mentioned, when the Thais say “Long Live The King!” they really mean it… There will be a disaster for this country when the King is no more… Moreover, there was an old prophesy that is well-known to almost every Thai person – that Thailand would be prosperous only during the first nine kings of the current dynasty and after that – there would be a disaster. And indeed, judging by the actual political situation in Thailand this prophecy seems to be 100% correct.
That is why the top Thai officials did not dare to reveal this dangerous truth to the public and preferred to play the game. They did not think that they could not continue this game forever, because His Majesty was indeed old and it would not look realistic in a long term anyway. Nonetheless, the situation for the Thai security officials was that insecure that they resorted to pretending that “nothing happened - His Majesty the King simply stays in the Siriraj Hospital and from time to time gets out for a couple of public appearances and for a couple of official functions per year. And that is what they perform now.
However, it is not so simple to make this game perfect.
Well. You could cheat the common simpletons with these tricks and, perhaps, even the two watches worn simultaneously and the Canon G9 in 2012 would not convince these simpletons to the contrary. However, you cannot cheat the family of His Majesty.
4
Yes, you could easily convince the family of His Majesty to participate in this prolonged cheating by citing the state interests. However, even in this case you cannot convince His Majesty’s family members to be genuinely happy…
Please, compare the behavior of the His Majesty’s family members during His Majesty’s birthday celebration in 2007 with that in 2011 (please, compare the enclosed photos).
Hope, now you got the point.
I did not want to reveal this truth. Because I respected His Majesty and I loved Thailand and the Thai people in general. I do not want to cause any problems for them. Moreover, I am a foreigner and it is simply not my business. Thus, I am not entitled to put my nose in the Thai internal affairs.
However, I must punish the Thais in fulfillment of my earlier promises. And so I do now.
Please, spread this information as widely as possible – particularly, make sure to bring it to attention of the Thai people to the best of your abilities. The Thais must now know the truth however bad and however dangerous it might be. The truth is the truth.
To make it more effective, please, try your best to initiate at least a few discussions on specialist photography-related internet-forums (either in Thailand or outside of Thailand) by drawing their attention to the fact that His Majesty the King of Thailand, an avid photographer, uses the Canon G9 all the way through the end of 2012, and asking what should that mean to a professional photographer? You will be surprised at their reaction. There will be a lot of talking about this strange fact (not to mention the two watches worn simultaneously 25 of May
