1.Eating behavior study
Twenty-one informants were included in this study. There were 16 female and 5 male informants (average age 66.05 years). Most of them lived with their sons or daughters only 4 informants stayed alone near the relatives. Twenty informants were Buddhist whereas one informant was Christian. In-depth interviews and focus groups with tape recording as well as participant observations were used for data collection. Data analysis, using content analysis, was used in the study. The findings showed that most informants believed that food can be any substances that make them healthy and strong. Some informants believed that food and medicine is similar in terms of making them strong, whereas, some informants mentioned the differences between food and medicine in terms of treating diseases.
