3.2. Water content of soil and soil temperature
Water content of soil and soil temperature differed significantly
due to the tillage treatments (Table 3). Water content of soil was the
highest in the long term zero till and the lowest in frequent and low
till treatments (Table 4). Contrary to this, soil temperature was the
highest inthefrequent tillandtheother till treatmentsandthelowest
in the long termzero till treatment.Variations in thewater content of
soil and soil temperature due to the season were also significant
(Table3).Water content of soilwas the highestduring thewet season and the lowest during the dry season in all tillage treatments.
Conversely, soil temperature was the lowest during the wet season
and the highest during the dry season in all tillage treatments.
