To manufacture the cathode we first mixed the PTFE dispersion
with distilledwater, and then added the Super P black carbonand the MnO2 catalyst to that mixture in sequence. Each time a
material was added, we dispersed the slurry with an ultrasonic
disperser for 1.5 min. The mixed slurrywas then dried at 120 ◦C.
After dropping 15 cm3 of isopropyl alcohol into the dehydrated
mixture, we pasted and kneaded it with a roll presser, making a
layer 300 ◦C thick. These cathode sheets were attached to both
sides of the Ni mesh, and finally were hot pressed at a temperature
of 200 ◦C to remove residual moisture. To prevent moisture
penetrating from the outside and flooding-out of the electrolyte
from the inside, we attached a PTFE sheet to one side of the
cathode at a temperature of 130 ◦C. Fig. 3 shows the process of
manufacturing the cathode.
