ANOVA test results of the mean size of larvae
maintained at different stocking densities at water depth of 4 cm, showed that
there was a significant difference among the different treatments. Comparisons
of the mean size between the different treatment groups using the Duncan's
Multiple Range test showed that the size of larvae maintained at a stocking
density of 2 fish 1-' was significantly larger than those maintained in higher
stocking densities of 4, 8 or 16 fish 1-' during the 28-day experimental period
(Figure lA). The smallest size was observed in the larvae maintained at the
highest stocking density at this water depth. A similar trend in the mean size
was observed in the larvae maintained at the highest stocking density at this water
depth. A similar trend in the mean size was maintained by the different treatment
groups throughout the whole study period, except at day 21 when the
difference in size was not significant between the larvae raised at stocking densities
of 8 and 16 fishl-'.
