Jerusalem artichoke genotypes were obtained from Plant Gene
Resource of Canada, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada (JA 37) and
the Leibniz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research,
Gatersleben, Germany (HEL 246). In a previous investigation
(Sennoi et al., 2012), HEL 246 was rated as resistant to S. rolfsii
whereas JA 37 was rated as susceptible. After tubers of each genotype
were germinated by incubation in charred rice husks for 7
