Grand Canyon Skywalk
The Grand Canyon Skywalk is a glass-bottom "U"-shaped bridge that overlooks the Colorado River and the Grand Canyon's West Rim. And did we mention it's also the world’s highest man-made structure - by more than 2,300 feet (700 meters)!
The glass, 70-foot (21-meter) long, open-air Skywalk is suspended 4,000 feet (1,219 m) above the canyon floor, providing 720-degree views on all sides. Needless to say, the Grand Canyon Skywalk is an exhilarating experience. The cantilever design was created by David Jin and can support the weight of 71 fully loaded 747 airplanes (that’s a whopping 71 million pounds - 32 000 tons!), withstand winds up to 100 mph (160 kmh) and survive a magnitude 8.0 earthquake.
