The intelligent embedded system was implemented using the KC705 board which features a XC7K325T device of Xilinx’s Kintex7 family [15]. The main feature of this family, optimized for digital signal processing, is a good balance between performance, power consumption, and price. The selected device is one of the smallest of this family (the third of seven available sizes). It provides 50950 slices (each slice contains four LUTs and eight flip-flops), 840 DSPs (each DSP consists of a pre-adder, a 25x18 multiplier, an adder, and an accumulator), 445 RAM memory blocks of 36 Kbits each, and 10 PLLs (Phase Locked Loop).
